Con motivo de la celebración de nuestro V Festival de Video nodoCCS, y siendo consistentes con el carácter experimental y contemporáneo de nuestra plataforma, este año nodoCCS se reconfigura para seguir proponiendo espacios de encuentro abiertos alrededor del arte contemporáneo y el video. Desde 2015 y hasta ahora son diversos los roles que ha tenido nodoCCS, moviéndose por lugares y países, habitando espacios de carácter tanto institucional como emergentes, colaborando con personas y artistas para llevar a cabo: nuestro Festival, encuentros, screenings, exposiciones y conversaciones.

nodoCCS se presenta pues como el proyecto colaborativo de dos artistas que tiene como eje central el Festival de Video nodoCCS: del cual nacen las programaciones, curadurías, encuentros, intercambios, exposiciones y colaboraciones propuestas por nuestras fundadoras en el lugar en donde se encuentren, en las ciudades a donde lo inviten. Hasta la fecha nodoCCS ha realizado sus programaciones y su festival en Caracas (Venezuela), Lima (Perú), Bogotá (Colombia), Miami (USA), Berlín (Alemania), Madrid (España), Karazin (Ucrania), Ciudad de México y Atenas (Grecia).

Este año estamos muy felices de anunciar que nuestro V Festival se llevará a cabo en Barcelona (España) gracias a la alianza con los espacios de Produkt Buró. Tendrá lugar el fin de semana del 14 y 15 de Diciembre con un jurado compuesto por Lisi Prada, Lis Costa, Josep M Jordana, Muu Blanco y Nascimento/Lovera.

Esta nueva edición 2019 presenta 32 videos seleccionados, la selección incluye propuestas de 24 países y una instalación de nuestra convocatoria de proyectos especiales.

On the occasion of the celebration of our V Festival Videol nodoCCS, and being consistent with the experimental and contemporary nature of our platform, this year nodoCCS is reconfigured to continue proposing open meeting spaces around contemporary art and video. Since 2015 and until now there are several roles that nodoCCS has had, moving around places and countries, inhabiting spaces of an institutional and emerging nature, collaborating with people and artists to carry out: our Festival, meetings, screenings, exhibitions and conversations.

nodoCCS is therefore presented as a collaborative project of two artists whose main focus is the Festival de Video nodoCCS: from which the programs, curatorships, meetings, exchanges, exhibitions and collaborations proposed by our founders are born in the place where they are located, in the cities where you are invited. To date nodoCCS has made its programming and its festival in Caracas (Venezuela), Lima (Peru), Bogotá (Colombia), Miami (USA), Berlin (Germany), Madrid (Spain), Karazin (Ukraine), Mexico City and Athens (Greece).

This year we are very happy to announce that our V Festival will take place in Barcelona (Spain) thanks to the alliance with Produkt Burô. It will take place on the weekend of December 14th and 15th with a jury composed of Lisi Prada, Lis Costa, Josep M Jordana, Muu Blanco and Nascimento / Lovera.

FIRST PLACE

David Anthony Sant | Australia | Expanse | 4’07” 2019

Notably disparate Sydney localities. A threaded expanse of colour expands and/or contracts within each portion of footage. The displaced perimeters of the images redefine their discernment whilst whimsically disclosing their underlying digital fabric.

SECOND PLACE

Pablo-Martín Córdoba | Argentina | Postdigital Flipbook | 4’40” 2019

“An algorithm explores the web by indexing images showing faces. These, which account for millions, are classified by proximity of facial features using a neural network.

Displayed one after another, found images produce an animation that evolves throughout the frame: anonymous people merge with old and contemporary celebrities along surprising transitions, and a meta-face seems to emerge in a new heterogeneous and disruptive space, which continues self-generating.

The visual component of big data is thus transposed in a playful way in the form of an image-byimage animation, mirroring the cinematographic device at its origins.”

Además de la selección de videos a través del open call, este año el festival Miami New Media Festival, que siempre ha apoyado a nodoCCS, presentó por primera en Barcelona, una curaduría de su festival, una selección de videos de su “open call” Identidad política, con siete obras de Jesús Hdez-Güero, Linda Phillips, Carlos Millán, Ricardo Arispe, Jesús Briceño, Eliseo Solís Mora and El Gaba – Guillermo Bermúdez.

Este evento se ha llevado a cabo por 5 años consecutivos, y se ha logrado gracias al apoyo de varias empresas y personas que aportan sus conocimientos y tiempo para hacer posible este festival, este año agradecemos especialmente a Adriana Barrios fundadora de la fundación Arts Connection, y al Miami New Media Festival, por su apoyo incondicional y por creer en nuestra propuesta los directores de Produkt Burô por siempre apoyarnos y a todos los artistas que participan de manera directa o indirecta en hacer de este festival una realidad. La filosofía de nodoCCS se basa en la participación abierta de gente que apuesta por las nuevas propuestas artísticas del Venezuela y sirve como punto de interconexión entre partes que no tienen que estar relacionadas trabajando con estructuras no lineales.

Bruno Angelo Brazil | Hope is a tricky machine | 6’46″ | 2019 | Video art made of scale contrasts between huge and tiny events, both aural and visual. Hope, be it collective or individual, is usually in between, usually invisible. It’s a glue.

Deyan Clement | and so on… | 5 ́18” | 2018 | The work is part of the existentialist phase, awarded with the first prize of the Regional Fine Arts, Salon of the City Gallery in Uzice. The central theme is the burden, the burden we must or choose to bear, the burden that is part of us or we are part of that burden, the burden without which our identity is called into question because we are burdened, and so on ..
